When I arrived at Archbishop Stepinac High School, in White Plains, NY, I originally wanted to be on the Football Team. Unfortunately, I was not able to because I did not think I was able to bear the commitment it brought. I decided to join the Cross Country Team. My School runs in the Catholic High School Athletic Association, New York division, possibly one of the most competitive in the Nation.
My first race ever was the Regis Invitational on September 20, 2014. It was at Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx, New York. Freshman run the 2500 Meter Run. My first time was 13:53.13. Coming into that season, I was not historically gifted in life. I was told by my coach that this was a great opportunity because no one sits on the bench, which other sports have.
