Dane Bryan was one of the most incensed Warriors about Spackenkill placing a spartan helmet on the Lourdes logo at midfield.

"I'm not saying anything," said the sophomore running back and safety. "My performance will tell how upset I am."

Head Coach Sean Keenan was fired up by the opponents actions and used it for his very short pregame speech.

"If that doesn't put a hole in your heart, then quit this team," said Keenan.

Lourdes got out to a quick lead scoring first, and did not trail the whole game.

Two players of the game whose night on the field powered Lourdes to their wide margin of victory were Mike Sabini and Joseph Tempestilli.

Both Sabini and Tempestilli credit the offensive line being the best position group the Warriors have.

"Our line protects for me," said Sabini, "and then I get to enjoy the benefits after they set up a wall for me."

Sabini finished the night with 3 carries for 32 yards and had a touchdown.

"The line was great at blocking, and then I was pretty much untouched on the way there," said Tempestilli.

Tempestilli finished the night with 8 carries for 115 yards and had a touchdown.

Other players that scored touchdowns were Drew Kozak, Liam Harris, and Noey Ledesma.

Both Sabini and Tempestilli return from last years team that won a Sectional Championship and then lost to Somers in the next round.

They are both part of a small group of starters that return from last years season.

"We got a whole new team, and it's a whole new playing style," said Tempestilli.

"A big thing for us that we need to learn is that we were more freestylingit in eight man," said Spackenkill Head Coach Jordan Riley. "You need to be a lot more technically sound."

"Our guys need to know how to follow a set game plan and this will be a good learning tool and we use this going forward."

Next up

Spackenkill (0-1) at Dover (0-1) Friday September 8th, 7PM.

The Spartans will travel to the other side of Dutchess County to play Dover High School.

In their week 0 game, Dover lost to visiting Haldane, 42-13.

"We're familiar with Dover because we've played them in eight man," said Riley. "It will be a big surprise for both us, being in this new system."

"We will check film and see what we can do to move on from this."

Pine Bush (0-0) at Our Lady of Lourdes (1-0) Friday September 8th 7PM

The Warriors play their first four games at home, and this is the second.

For Pine Bush, this will be their first game of the season.

"You guys have a chance for this to be only the second time in over 40 years that we beat a AA school," said Keenan postgame to his team."
