It was very ironic for the Washingtonville vs. Our Lady of Lourdes game that both teams had the same colors, with all the balloons adorning the fire for Homecoming.

In a game that Lourdes first scored on a safety, they would only score one more touchdown.

The game was a big defensive battle.

At some points, Lourdes, just like last week let penalties get in the way of scoring.

Joe Tempestilli had a seven-yard touchdown run right before halftime. Lourdes would not be able to successfully complete the two-point conversion.

Drew Kozak had two passes in his direction that he got a hand on, however were picked off.

Senior Nick Ascenzo scored both touchdowns for Washingtonville.

Cian Cordeiro had two interceptions for Washingtonville.

Lourdes' Noah Garb would attempt a 21-yard field goal which would be blocked by Wizards Senior Luke Laquidara.

In overtime, Lourdes won the coin toss and elected to go on defense.

After passing the first down, Washingtonville's Aidan Millmore handed the ball off to Ascenzo.

The two-point conversion would be successful with Sean Davis running it into the end zone.

Lourdes did not pass the first down, and the game ended when Mike Sabini had to scramble out of the pocket. Wizards defenders Brent McLee and Vince Lombardi (yes, that is his name), chased Sabini, with Lombardi tackling him.

"When you play a team with thirty seniors, and you don't execute, said Lourdes Head Coach Sean Keenan," you lose in overtime.

"We found a way to lose, and not a way to win," he said.

Tempestilli finished the night with 214 total yards.

Junior Free Safety Noel Ledesma had eleven tackles.
